Rubber ball

on Sunday, 23 December 2012.

In our company, a complete range of cleaning balls has been developed to cope with various types of tube fouling, different tube materials and variable pressure drops in condensers.we have three kinds of rubber balls including standard cleaning balls, peeled cleaning balls and Corundum blended cleaning balls.
Rubber
I. Our standard rubber ball is used when there is no specific  problem or necessary  requirements. It can be used in either fresh or salt is very effective in getting rid of soft dirt and is applicable to cooling water applications, sticky mud, silt, sand, copper tubing and so on.

Ball hardness:
Our cleaning balls are available in four different hardnesses: soft (J), medium-soft (N), medium-hard (F), hard (H) :
1. Soft 160 Kg/m³- used for pipe and tube cleaning for various industries.
2. Medium soft 200 Kg/m³ used in brass tubes.
3. Medium 250 Kg/m³ - used in brass tubes.
4. Firm 300 Kg/m³ used in stainless steel and titanium tubes.
The degree of hardness of the cleaning ball is determined in dependence on the gap width of the strainer section ,type of tube fouling, tube material, condenser pressure drop, ball diameter, use of tube protective nozzles, water velocity in the tube, , and the screen angle.Ball hardness is not affected by any type of cooling water. Balls will not become soft or swell or loose any of their properties when soaked in cooling water. Ball efficiency remains at the highest level.
Rubber2
II. The peeled cleaning balls can efficiently remove biological fouling and biological fouling with high viscosity and it is applicable to stainless steel tubes and titanium tubes.
Rubber3
III. Corundum blended cleaning balls are designed to be used only in extremely difficult (CTCS). They must not be used continuously or often. This kind of cleaning balls are coated fully or partially with carborundum for abrading hard deposits in metal tubes which can efficiently remove hard dirt, such as calcium carbonate and is applicable to steel pipes, stainless steel pipe.

Ball size:
The nominal ball diameter depends on the inner tube diameter and the cooling water velocity within the tubes. The nominal ball diameter exceeds the inner tube diameter by1to 3 mm
A larger ball diameter can be used for a longer ball life when the condenser pressure drop is higher than usual. This applies only when the type of fouling allows the use of soft or medium-soft cleaning balls. In other cases, the use of extra oversized balls can lead to ball blockage inside the condenser tube, reducing the heat exchange surface and triggering tube corrosion.
For the above reason balls must not swell due to chemical reaction with water: balls are engineered to be insensitive to cooling water.
A smaller ball diameter will be selected when using abrasive balls or when condenser tubes are equipped with protective nozzles or when the CTCS design does not prevent the risk of balls wedging between the strainer bars. In this last case the use of harder but smaller balls may be convenient.

 Ball lifetime:
Ball lifetime can vary enormously (from days to months) according to working parameters such as:
Inner tube surface condition: roughness, corrosion, scaling...
Cooling water characteristics: mud or sand in suspension, type of fouling generated...
Type of duty: Continuous duty required when using scaling water: each tube must be cleaned every 5 minutes on average to prevent scaling. Intermittent duty allowed when water fouling (such as mud or organic deposit) can be wiped out easily: ball circulation would be set for operation only a few times a day for a preset period of time.

Diameter:
Standard range of products includes balls in diameters from 15 to 42 mm. Increment 1 mm. Other sizes can be supplied on request.

Temperature:
               1: standard balls up to 80° C
2: heat resistant balls up to 140° C

Cleaning Frequency:
It depends on the situation of the power plant.Ball are made of sponge rubber in Fengqing's own plant. First-grade natural rubber is used and blended with various additional components to give them their final quality. Our specialists can help in selecting the ball type to suit your requirements and conditions. Balls are supplied in bags of 250 pieces marked with the ball reference. Bags we provided can be stored several years as kept in a dark dry location.
